| Hospital Care Dr. Hoddinott and Norma Espinoza NP/PA-C maintain hospital privileges at Seton Medical Center in Daly City. We may attempt to visit you in the hospital, however your daily care in the hospital will be overseen by a specialist physician known as a hospitalist. The hospitalist stays in close communication with us about your care and will notify us about your status. The Seton Medical Center Hospitalist Program features physicians who have strong experience in caring for hospitalized patients, many who often have serious medical conditions and frequently need a more advanced level of care. Your primary care physician may, with your consent, ask one of our hospitalists to coordinate and oversee your hospital care from admission to discharge. During that time, or upon discharge, the hospitalist will give updates to us. What is a hospitalist? Who will write prescriptions for medications prescribed in the hospital? What does a hospitalist do? Why isn't my regular physician seeing me in the hospital? Why is a hospitalist caring for me? How does the hospitalist program benefit me? Will my physician and the hospitalist work together? How should my family and I communicate with the hospitalist? What happens when I am discharged from the hospital? Will my primary care doctor be informed about my illness and treatment? For more information about the Seton Hospitalist Program, please call 650.991.5800.
